Due to unforeseen circumstances, for the time being, Mike Shumway will be the contact for the Pioneer Ditch Walker and can be reached at 970-749-9382

The estimated percentage of water for 2025 is 65%.

Mike has been putting as much water as possible into the ditch, and it is only making it to the head gate at El Rancho Florida HOA. Because of the issue of getting water to all users on the ditch, and in an attempt to ensure the end user is able to get water, users in Class A, B, and C will have their delivery curtailed for the time being. This means, that is your water delivery is reduced / or shut off at your gate during adjudicate water season, DO NOT reopen it. If it is found you have taken water during this time, your gate will be locked and you will not receive any more water this season.

DO NOT PULL more water than you are allocated, this is a short water year, and we are trying to ensure all users are able to get their water.

If it is found that you are taking more water than allocated, or using water when Project water is β€œIn” you will be immediately cut off for the rest of the irrigation season!

Water has made it half way through El Ranch Florida section of the ditch, Mike is working on getting water down to the end of the ditch our our last user on the ditch.

The Florida Water Conservancy District(FWCD) administers project water, delivered through the Florida river to the Pioneer Ditch users.  Project water is water adjudicated to the FWCD that is stored in Lemon Reservoir and delivered to classified irrigable lands to which project water has been allocated.

The right to use Project water is transferred by deed, approved water reallocation petition, or approved water transfer petition. Assessments for project water are billed with your property taxes and should not be used on any land that is not classified as irrigable land.

How to determine this - you paying annual assessments for your project water directly to the Pioneer Ditch Company. On your annual assessment statement it will be reflected as Acre Feet of water rather than # of shares.
